What are your first magickal fiber projects as this year begins? One of the first projects here in my space is this pair of mittens. The hand-painted yarn was gifted to me by a dear friend, it waited for a very long time for just the right project to meet it. As it sat in my basket, it reminded me of the treasure my friend is in my life and when I came across the pattern String of Jewels Mitts by Triona Murphy on Ravelry, it was immediately clear that it is just the right match for the special skein of yarn I received as the conversations, connections, and times spent together with my friend have been so bright and love-filles as the most precious jewels on a string that is a thread weaving our friendship joys through life's paths gently and lovingly. I just love these mittens so much as they bring the joy of friendship to life right in my hands on cold mornings.
