Threshold experiences are on my mind today. Feeling of being in between chapters ... when I feel like that moment when you are reading a book that fully pulls you in and you pause between chapters ... partly because the story has been so impossibly marvelous and partly becuase you are not sure how you feel about moving forward and finding out what happens next ... that feeling when you are filled with hope and inspiration but part of you is still reveling in the experiences that brought you that far.
Stories know when we are standing between chapters. Do we know how to make the most of that pause?
When you think of a moment in your life that felt like a true threshold—not an ending, not a beginning, but the pause where both were present. If that moment could be told as a folk tale, who or what would be waiting to help you move forward into the next chapter (an animal, helper, symbol, or shadow), and what would they be asking you to learn before crossing into the next chapter of the story?
