Spirit of the Rose Lessons (1) ...

Spirit of the Rose shares its lessons and inspires hope and optimism, the heart hears its call, and the mind follows opening to inspirations it so generously pours into the blessed space between us. As I sat with this young wild rose, it brings back to mind the joy and excitement of the days when we welcomed her into our home and family. It reminds me of the winter months when all of its presence was contracted int the roots under the soil, and I had to simply trust that care and love continue to nourish it and that its energy felt above the soil is reassuring me in my trust of its wellbeing. It brings to my mind the hope and relief experienced in the days of early spring when its first bright green shoots were stretching above the soil, feeling the chill in the early spring air, and preparing to stretch up towards the sun. Today, I sit with this graceful teacher and see her young plant dancing taller than ever, preparing to bloom soon and to bear rosehip fruits in the fall. As hope, optimism, and anticipation of that beauty well up in me, this firm, graceful, loving teacher reminds me - all in its divine time. Each part of the cycle of life transformations holds tremendous healing power from which we can emerge stronger in our creativity, and through which - if we are willing to journey with inner trust in goodness, with reverence for beauty even when only dark wet soil is all we can see, with truth as our guide, and with dedication to wellbeing and the wisdom of self-healing - we can emerge as creators of our dream worlds, healthy, abundant, free, loved, and joyous.
